Born in Rivière-du-Loup, Martine Savard started taking piano lessons at six years old. At age sixteen, she moved to Québec City to study under the tutelage of Robert Weisz, at Université Laval, where she obtained a B.A. in Music. During her stay in Québec City, she also took lessons in accompaniement, chamber music, and choral conducting, with respectively Jeanne Landry, Zeyda Ruga Suzuki, and Chantal Masson-Bourque. A regular participant in the Canadian Music Competition, she was a national finalist three times. Martine also spent a few years as an accompanist at the École des Grands Ballets Canadiens in Québec City, before she moved to Toronto and began her teaching career.

Affiliated to the École de musique Vincent d'Indy, she now teaches piano in her NDG studio. She also regularly judges end-of-year exams for other teachers.
